Marangu: The easiest of all

Marangu is the oldest route to climb the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. This one is also considered the easiest of all the seven routes to the mountain top. This is because it is meant for everyone and can be easily conquered by all. The path is very interesting and easy to walk with good scenery on the way. If you go by this route, you will reach the summit in approximately five days whilst taking nights off on the way. This route has some dorms and huts on the way where you can spend the night with your family. If you are with kids, then also this is a great option as the slope is even throughout. The only downside of this route is that ascending and descending takes place on the same route.

Machame: Steep and challenging

If you are someone who loves to take up challenges and wants to test his/her limits, then this route will be the most appropriate option for you. But mind it, when we say challenging, we really mean it. With so many routes available, this one is the most enthralling experience of all. The path is steep and takes a long time to conquer. It is much more tiring than Marangu because it takes longer to scale. Since the roads are steep, you would have to pay attention to a lot of things like breathing capacity as well as walking pace. This route is recommended for professionals and advanced climbers instead of seasonal tourists. They would literally give up halfway and turn this experience into a troublesome visit. The upside of this route is that it has some really incredible scenic views on the way.

Lemosho: For spectacular Scenic

This one is a new trail to scale Mount Kilimanjaro. It is considered one of the most gorgeous trails here because of the sole reason that it has some really spectacular views on the way. There are so many hilltops and mountains covered in plush green color that you would love to look at. Lemosho is considered an interesting option because it makes its own route on the way before joining the route of Machame at the end. Also, it offers the best of both worlds. It is thrilling and scenic. Moreover, there is less traffic on this path, so you can have a clear view of the surroundings too. It takes about eight days to conquer and that is totally worth it!

Rongai: For a wild experience

The trail of Rongai is famed for the wilderness it offers to the climbers. The trail goes through some really wild and penetrating areas that can give you the ultimate thrill of your life. This trail is considered great for all kinds of climbers because it has low foot traffic and is also quite easy to scale. If you are a first-timer, you should either consider Rongai or Marangu. The downside of this trail is that it is not that scenic but it surely offers some amazing views at some specific points. It takes 6-7 days easily to scale Mount Kilimanjaro through this route. Pick this one if you are going for the first time and this will be remembered forever.
