FULHAM BEACH

For all those who think that Fulham still doesn’t have a beach, here’s the good news. Since 2017, it has had a very sandy patch of land known as Neverland and has taken the form of a ‘Jungle beach paradise.’ So now you can simply rent day-beds or lay down on a cabana with a cocktail in your hand and relax the day off. The atmosphere is so merrily with beer-pong going on at one side and wood-fired pizza cooking on the other. The Fulham Beach also shoes films on Tuesdays at 7 pm and there are bottomless brunches at the weekend too. DJ sets at this beach are sure to liven the mood.

RUISLIP LIDO

This is probably the only beach in London where you can get to on the tube. Ruislip is a 60-acre lake sitting on the edge of a lovely nature reserve- The Ruislip Nature Reserve which is an ancient woodland. With ups and downs in the past, this beach has restored its glory and now is a very popular spot for families, locals and anyone who is up for a faux-seaside fun. Well, that’s not all. There is an adventure for kids, play areas and little cafes too. You can also go for a walk in the forest or ride the miniature train that will take you on a fun trip around the lake. Sounds fun!

HAMPSTEAD BEACH

This beach is not exactly located in Hampstead but it conveniently sits on the Finchley Road, inside the JW3 (Jewish community center). The Hampstead Beach is nicknamed as ‘The Nature Island’ and has often been called a Caribbean island. It is a black sand giant pit with a paddling pool and splash areas specially meant for kids. It provides free entry, good food, and thirst-quenching cocktails to get you in the mood for summer. It also hosts friendly events like Teddy Bear’s picnic which is famous for the fun and frolic atmosphere. It’s the Number one beach for its changeable weather and cold dips to freshen up.

MERSEA ISLAND, ESSEX

Mersea Island is Britain’s most easterly inhabited place with a tide timetable. With pastel-colored beach huts standing adjacent to each other in a line, this place is bliss. They are as pretty as they look in pictures showcasing a very calm and peaceful vibe. The atmosphere is just so typical with happy people around, not-so-overcrowded and stunning landscapes. What more could you ask for? Foodies can make their way to the various Oyster bars while fossil hunters and nature lovers move to the East Mersea which has cliffs in the backdrop. It takes approximately two hours by car to reach this place but it’s totally worth it.

Gulp down some fresh air, dip your toes in the sea and have fun of a lifetime!
