Get A Medical Test Done
Going for a trek? A great piece of advice would be to visit your physician before climbing the tall peaks. The high altitudes exert pressure for the lungs to breathe so it’s very important that you check the condition of your lungs prior to a trek. Many places have made it legal to get yourself medically tested before climbing. And even if your destination doesn’t legalize this for your safety do get a medical test done. A medical test is nothing but an assurance that you are medically fit to face the challenges a trek throws on you.
Drink Enough Water
Exertion to the high altitudes is associated with dehydration and fatigue so we would advise you to drink a lot of water before commencing your trek. The spring water may look clear and clean but could have bacteria and parasites so don’t consume that. If your trek is long we would recommend you take along with you water purifying tablets or iodine tablets so that you can drink even the contaminated spring water whenever you’ll feel dehydrated. So, never dare to climb mountains without drinking enough water.
Acclimatize To The Climate
Before the trek, you should be familiar with the climate changes that take place as you go to higher altitudes. As you climb higher the air gets thinner so if you witness any of these symptoms you should move down immediately.
